Gumer Jiménez is a local surfer who has been featured on the cover of Surfline in February 2023 (February Flexes on the Caribbean) and again in October 2025 (Golden Glow 2x+ Overhead Instagram Post), and has been highlighted among notable surfers in the Caribbean. Despite starting surfing relatively late in life, he has become one of Puerto Rico’s recognized big wave surfers, earning respect for his courage, consistency, and dedication in challenging conditions.

Born in the mountains of Puerto Rico into a humble family, surrounded by nature Gumer discovered surfing later in life, but his passion, discipline, and deep connection with the ocean have driven him to grow and improve every day.

As a certified surf instructor with nearly a decade of teaching experience, Gumer combines his surfing expertise with yoga, meditation, and breathworkpractices to teach students to stay focused, grounded, and inspired in the water. He believes surfing is more than just a sport. It’s a way to stay healthy and become connected with nature.
